About EmotionShala

Setting Foundation

EmotionShala is an initiative by ASCC and is solely dedicated to the well-being of young children through social-emotional learning. Social-emotional learning instills skills that help children to communicate, play and explore which makes growing up easier. Through our researched-based virtual curriculum, we aim to provide what is best for children. Research-based data from CASEL has been utilized to generate and create strategies and tools focused on holistic development. EmotionShala utilizes all modes of learning- audio-visual, drawing, coloring, storytelling, music and dance, games as well as puppetry, rhymes and jingles that includes interaction. The curriculum also involves live interaction with parents and teachers as a part of the ecosystem of the child.

Testimonials

Professor Gary Low, Principal of Emotional Intelligence Learning Systems, Professor Emeritus of Education at Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Dr. Ashis Sen and team carefully developed a program of excellence aimed to improve education and early development of children and young students. Congratulations for achieving such a refreshing and needed service for education and healthy development of children and adults.
With these two booklets, healthy emotional development is a full partner with healthy cognitive development. It is clear that Dr.Sen and the team know that age appropriate begins with each lesson.

Mr. Joffi Thomas, Faculty of IIM, Kozhikode

Developing mindfulness and the habit of reflection will surely prepare the next generation for dealing with life's challenges and leading a joyful life. Games and exercises based on CASEL will surely help them get started early on. As teachers and parents begin to appreciate and apply emotional learning elements, it could impact the quality of life in school and their homes too. A thoughtful initiative, I should say.

Nitin Singh, Professor, IIM Ranchi

The manual is designed with a well thought out approach. It presents solutions that are relevant, measurable and actionable. I find that there are clear learning objectives, assessments and debriefing for the participants in a participants manual. A different manual for parents/teachers articulates their roles in demonstrating values and awareness that would further help in delivering the desired learning. Also, the books are written coherently and present the approach and concepts with clarity. I think this way of architecting a learning process is practical and actionable. Thank you Dr Sen and team for developing this. it would be of great value.
